IT Release Manager

Accretive Solutions’ Consulting Practice has been engaged by one of its clients to recruit a IT Release Manager to join their team, located in the Greater Detroit area.

The IT Release Manager is responsible for scheduling releases across build and run groups to ensure there is coordination and to validate there are no conflicts in changes being promoted. The Release Manager interfaces and communicates with the Application Run Manager and Configuration Manager on a regular basis. Maintaining release schedules for Quality & VSRC by working closely with the Build and Run groups, Configuration Manager, Regional and Global Leads; Documenting and communicating release schedules to ensure there are no conflicts in code checkout and release levels causing release conflicts.

Responsibilities: 

• Maintaining release schedules for Quality & VSRC by working closely with the Build and Run groups
• Configuration Manager, Regional and Global Leads; Documenting and communicating release schedules to ensure there are no conflicts in code checkout and release levels causing release conflicts
• Managing risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality; Measuring and monitoring progress to ensure application releases are delivered on schedule within the Build and Run Groups; Coordinating release content and effort based on the service request backlog and pending service requests; Regular release reporting; Communicating release details and schedules to Build and Run as required;
• Drafting and coordinating release notes for publication to end users and IT users; Coordinating, planning and managing all release activities; Continually working towards making improvements in the release process and; Controlling the schedule of releases and identifies any significant or potential deviations between the base-lined schedule and the actual results.

Requirements: 

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related area
• 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Experience with "Service Now" preferred.
• Industry Knowledge of Service Management/ITIL (Foundations Training).
• Ability to influence others and drive decision making. Ability to manage and resolve conflict while maintaining/growing business relationships.
• Process oriented and understands the value of process consistency and compliance. Ability to develop strong business relationships with people.
• Experience leading IT projects / strong project management skills.
• Experience working within an outsourced multi-vendor environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and reasoning skills to earn support of business leaders, technology leaders, colleagues and vendor representatives.
• Demonstrate understanding of project management methodologies.
• Demonstrate extensive experience in leading, instructing, directing, assigning, and checking the work of others.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate to all level of management in written and verbal form.
